About Sarah

My interest in the world of fitness and wellbeing was piqued at a young age. Whilst working with polo ponies, I suffered a spinal injury in a riding accident which impacted my range of movement and was a cause of ongoing discomfort. This drove me to explore holistic treatments; gaining qualifications in massage therapy, reflexology and aromatherapy, working at The Sanctuary in Covent Garden and Forest Mere.

In the early 80s I moved to Bermuda, starting a career as an aerobics instructor, before returning to the UK to continue teaching as I raised a family. It was my love for strength and fitness training combined with my interest in rehabilitative treatment that led me to discover Pilates sixteen years ago. Having experienced the benefits it had on my own long-term injury, it was a natural progression to start teaching.

In 2006 I qualified as a Stott Pilates instructor, having trained in mat and equipment. I've continued to update my education annually to ensure I'm providing my clients with the most up to date and effective training. I've had my garden studio in Steyning for 7 years, offering clients a relaxing and quiet space to learn from.

When I'm not in the studio I love to be outside, walking with Marty my Chocolate Labrador, cycling and anything to do with country pursuits and conservation. I also dabble with sculpting.
